Objective of the test:To determine the location and the extent of defects (if any) of driven/bored piles based on the wave reflection recorded at the pile head

 Method of testing:Measurement of sound wave travel along the pile produced by a hand-hammer impact

 Standards for the test:ASTM D5882-00 or following the Engineer's instructions

 Steps to be followed for the test:

1.      Clean small areas in the pile head.

2.      Attach the accelerometers to the cleaned area

3.      Turn on the equipment and enter the parameters

4.      Hit to the pile head  blows using special hand hammer

5.      Check the record of each blow, if the signal is not good hit again

6.      Select "analysis" for good signals

7.      Turn off the equipment and move to other pile

2. The owner, designer, piling contractor and the tester

3. Tested pile records

4. Summary table of test results

5. Wave travel graphs

6. Conclusion and recommendation for the defect piles
